Managing JungleMail 365 applications in Microsoft Entra ID portal

This article describes the management of JungleMail 365 apps and components in Microsoft Entra ID in different configuration scenarios. This article applies for all JungleMail components that are managed in the Entra ID portal:

JungleMail 365 Authentication - documentation
JungleMail 365 Microsoft 365 sending account - documentation
Microsoft Entra ID connection - documentation
Micrsoft Exchange Connection - documentation
Microsoft SharePoint Connection - documentation

Depending on if the Admin consent requests for applications setting is enabled, regular JungleMail users may be prevented from asking for administrator consent for the different JungleMail 365 components.

This setting is controlled in the Azure Portal https://portal.azure.com by navigating to Microsoft Entra ID > Enterprise Applications > Security > Consent and permissions > Admin Consent Settings

If Admin consent requests are disabled

This portion of the article describes what the User sees if the Admin consent requests are disabled and what the Administrators should do in such cases.

What the user sees

In this case, the users should contact the IT administrators and ask them to enable certain JungleMail components

What the Admin should do

Administrators should sing in to JungleMail 365 and enable the specific component that the user requests.
From there, if the Admin does not grant Admin consent to the application, users should be manually assigned to the specific JungleMail 365 Enterprise Application in the Entra ID portal

If Admin consent requests are enabled

This portion of the article describes what the User sees if the Admin consent requests are enabled and what the Administrators should do in such cases.

What the user sees

In this case, the users should fill out the approval form and wait for the administrators to approve the certain components.

What the Admin should do

Administrators should sign in to the Entra ID portal > Enterprise Applications > Activity > Admin consent requests, review and approve the valid requests from users.

Granting Admin Consent

Some JungleMail 365 components (Microsoft 365 Sending account, Exchange Connection, SharePoint connection) support Admin Consent. This is beneficial for administrators, as it only has to be granted once and users can activate and use these JungleMail components without administrator assitance.

To grant Administrator consent to specific JungleMail 365 components, navigate to the Entra ID Portal > Enterprise Applications and open the JungleMail component in question. Make sure that Enabled for users to sign-in? is set to Yes and Assignment required is set to No.
